There is nothing required for those students at this time other than to make sure that they have a pencil in class. Please see a separate listing for uniform requirements for each singing group.

Our spring chorus concert will be held this coming Monday night. I apologize for not getting this on the blog sooner. The students have known about the concert date since the beginning of the semester. Hopefully they are not just letting you know. The concert will begin at 7 pm. All chorus students will need to be in their seats in the auditorium no later than 6:30. I will take roll at that time. If there is a legitimate reason they will be tardy, I need to know in advance and not when they show up. We will start promptly at 7 with the 8th grade chorus, followed by the 9th grade chorus and finish the evening with A cappella. All students are required to stay for the entire concert so they can support the other performing groups.
8th grade chorus will wear the required Harding Academy uniform:
Guy: White long sleeved Harding button down shirt with the tie, khaki pants, regulation shoes.
Girls: Plaid skirt, white button down blouse, white knee socks, regulation shoes.
9th grade chorus
All will wear black pants, white tuxedo shirt, bow time and cummerbund. Must have black shoes.
A cappella
Girls: Chorus dresses, black shoes, pearls
Guys: Full tuxedo with black shoes.
All of the groups have been working hard to prepare for the event. I hope that you will come out and support all the of the choruses on Monday.

April 7th, 2009
Auditions for the 2009-10 A cappella will begin tomorrow, April 8th. Any eligible student may audition as long as they sign up for an audition time in the Dean of Students office. All auditioning students must also pick up a audition form to complete as well. At the time of the audition, all students must bring their audition form with them. No student will be considered for the group unless they complete the vocal audition.
Current A cappella students who will be returning will need to fill out an audition form but will not have to complete an audition. This is mainly so I will know what our needs will be next years. I will check current A cappella students vocal range in case I need to move a voice or two around in order to have well balanced sections.
I have already begun selecting music for next year and will post a potential repetoire list when I post the results of the auditions.

This week we will be working more on new music to be added to our church performances. Please remember that we will be singing at Bartlett Woods this Wednesday night. All members should be at the church by 6:30. We will be working on sectionals a couple of days so that we can try to sing “Didn’t my Lord” at the performance.
